“It never gets easier, you just go faster.”
– Greg LeMond
My name is Sam Sautelle. I’m 26 years old living in Sydney, NSW. My love of cycling was fostered from a young age; I remember getting my first BMX as a 10 year old and from that point on I was hooked by life on 2 wheels. Growing up in Canberra, I quickly fell in love with the road scene and concentrated my efforts on the NRS as well as a stint racing in the US. After a few years hiatus from competitive cycling, being back racing at the highest level in Australia with ONYVA is motivating and above all else, damn good fun.
A large part of my motivation to return to competitive racing is the thrill of working with a team of committed individuals to achieve a goal; exactly what we’re doing here at ONYVA racing. Personally, I’m targeting results in the NRS in the short term with a clear objective to be racing overseas at the continental or pro-tour level in the coming years. From a team perspective, I’m excited to be part of the ambitious journey ONYVA is on and to play a mentoring role in the team as one of the ‘older’ heads. Giving back to the community is also incredibly important to me, an ethos that aligns with the core of what ONYVA is all about.
